The St. Gallen Symposium is the world’s leading platform for cross-generational dialogue on economic, political, and societal developments. It takes place annually in May at the University of St. Gallen.
The Symposium is organized by the International Students’ Committee (ISC), an independent student initiative. Around 30 students prepare the event over a period of ten months and are supported during the Symposium week by approximately 450 volunteers. Three members of the previous year’s team assume the leadership of the organizing committee.
The ISC team is responsible not only for the organization but also for shaping the Symposium’s content. This includes selecting the main themes, managing partnerships and speakers, and maintaining relationships with media outlets and universities worldwide.
The St. Gallen Foundation for International Studies serves as the institutional sponsor of the Symposium. It promotes intergenerational exchange and supports the long-term strategic direction and development of the event.
